Parish Groups
All the groups listed have been formed to provide assistance, support, encouragement & faith development for any person seeking such help. The groups function with the volunteer efforts of parishioners. We welcome new volunteers and participants to the various groups. If you have any need which you think could be met by any of these groups, or if you would like to assist with any of these activities, please contact the Parish Office on (08) 8296 7292. Adult Faith Education Responsible for conducting gatherings and distributing information related to adult faith education. These include Advent and Lenten programs Baptismal Preparation Team A team who work with the priest in preparing families for the Sacrament of Baptism. Bereavement Group Provide support in times of bereavement and assist in the planning of the funeral liturgy. Family Groups Provide opportunities to gain a sense of belonging and to develop a sense of caring for each other by the sharing of life and faith in friendship. Caritas Project Group promotes parish overseas aid projects. Children's Sacramental Groups Provide preparation for sacraments of initiation for students in our Parish and Parish Schools. East Timor Seminarian Project Providing ongoing financial support to seminarians in East Timor. Ecumenism Involved in the Inter-church Council, Ministers Association and the promotion of ecumenical activities. Finance Council Responsible for the overview of parish finances. Knights of the Southern Cross Gather for fellowship and they support many parish and diocesan projects. Liturgy Team Responsible for enhancing the liturgy at Eucharistic celebrations. Maintenance Committee Responsible for the ongoing maintenance co-ordination of parish property and buildings. Men's Shed An open age group of men who gather weekly for fellowship and to share skills & knowledge in a range of activities. Musicians Responsible for the music at Eucharistic Celebrations. Meditation Weekly group to help parishioners encounter God in a peaceful setting. Parish Pastoral Council Representatives from all sections of the parish work with the Parish Team as the consultative body of the parish. RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults For people interested in learning about the Catholic faith and for those who desire to be received into the Catholic Church. Society of St Vincent de Paul A group of men and women who serve the needs of the poor, aged and homeless. There is a sewing auxiliary group who gather on a Tuesday morning and also volunteers who work at the shop on Brighton Road. Visitation to the Sick and Hospitalised Ministers of the Eucharist who take Holy Communion weekly to parishioners in hospital, nursing homes or in private homes. Youth Provide a range of activities for youth through Antioch. |
